Enrichment

Opstad PTA offer multiple opportunities for student enrichment. Below are a few of the most popular. As always, these activities depend on volunteers. If you would like to help, please email us at opstadpta@yahoo.com.

RISE

Realizing Innovative Student Enrichment: These are after school (or before school) classes offered to students for a fee. Some run all year long,  like Spanish and Guitar, and some run only 5 or 6 weeks in the fall or spring. Keep watching your PTA email to learn about offerings and registration. New this year we hope to offer a fall lego class and jump rope class.

Volunteers needed to organize and process registration. Qualified RISE class instructors are also needed (paid by student RISE fee).

Science Fair

The Science Fair is held typically in February or March, and is open to all students grades K-5. Entries are evaluated by judges, and selected entries may receive special awards. The evening celebration is open to the community, and is a ton of fun for all, with science activities in addition to the exhibits.

Volunteers needed for planning and the day of the event.

Lutra

Lutra is an annual magazine of student essays, poems, and artwork.

Volunteers needed to manage the publication.

Chess

Chess club is open to all students weekly during lunch. Participation is free. Students should listen for announcements on when this will start.

Volunteers needed to help students.
